One small step for a man

Here’s some of the conjugated verbs in sentences that I’ve been working on today.

Azerbaycanca öyrənirəm.  I’m learning Azeri.

Başa düşürsünüz?                Do you understand?

Lankarana gedirsən?        When are you going to Lankaran?

Məktəbdə işləyirəm.        I work at school.

Mənə maşın lazımdır.     I need a car.

Maşını istəyirəm.          I want the car.

Bir maşın istəyirəm.      I want a car.

Nə vaxt gəlirsən?        When are you coming?

O bilir?                       Does he know?

O mənə it verir.          She is giving me a dog.

I’d welcome corrections.  Any Azeri speakers out there?
(Post already corrected twice, thanks to Jonathon.)

I’m no expert, but my Azerbaijani is pretty good and I see several mistakes:

    1) should be Azerbaycanca (not Azerbaycanlı — which means an Azeri person, not the language)
    2) I believe the correct spelling is: Başa düşürsünüz?
    3) and 4) look fine.
    5) What you have here means “I need a car.” I want a car would be: Maşını istəyirəm.
    6), 7), and 8) look fine.

    Good luck!

Jonathon, thanks so much. Some comments:

    2) I’m told both versions are correct. My tutor wrote: Başa düşürs(ün)üz. … also Siz başa düsdüz?
    5) Maşını istəyirəm. – Would this be, “I want the car”?

    I’ll correct the post.

    What brings you to Azerbaijan?

    Jonathon has pointed out that,
“I want a car” would be “Bir maşın istəyirəm”.

I’m intrigued that you have added “She is giving me a dog”. Is that a commonly used phrase in Azeri?
It reminds me of our French phrase book that had “Help, my friend is drowning”.
