I’m disappointed in myself that I’ve not had much success with getting beyond food words in learning Azeri. I’ve returned to reading articles about the language learning method called Total Physical Response (TPR). I’ve suggested that Sally’s friend, Abbas, who has volunteered to help us learn Azeri, might use this method. It has been shown to be more effective than learning word lists and theory and appears to be closer in style to the Berlitz method, where immersion is the forward.
I have some time today so I’m determined to memorise a few lists.
Tanya is in Copenhagen and is four hours drive south of where there is 24 hours light (is it ‘daylight’ if it’s night time? Could it be ‘nightlight’?).
Today in Copenhagen Sunrise 4.26am, sunset 9.57pm. Dawn 3.24am dusk 22.59pm.
I leave tomorrow morn, via Riga, and will see her early evening. Copenhagen is 3 hours behind Baku.
