One of them was a double of Sadam Hussein (at least we’re in roughly the right part of the world)

Didn’t Sadam Hussein have loads of doubles (does that make them triples, quadruples etc?) that he hired as decoys? Maybe you stumbled upon one of them.

I think so. He was tall as well, but not quite so heavily built.

Somehow I must get to see more of this place in the next 12 months. It seems there are some astounding places but they are not big with tourists yet. They are however building gigantic hotels in the manner of Dubai. It is a bit of a gamble as people aren’t going to come here for the sun and surf, and when the Olympics don’t eventuate will these hotels be useful?

So maybe you’ll be one of those people who will be able to say “I saw it when…” Or write a book.. “The Hidden Secrets of Azerbaijan”.
Sounds like they’re very optimistic about the olympics, and running ahead of schedule compared with China!
