“We do not agree with those who state that Azerbaijan lacks problems with press”.
 The due announcement was made by US ambassador to Azerbaijan Anne Derse.
“I am confident that freedom of speech and fair press play irreplaceable role in the development of democracy, fair elections. I think there are definite problems in the Azerbaijani press. A law on defamation should be adopted in Azerbaijan. Journalists should not be beaten, subjected to pressure and threats or receive abusing messages”, Derse noted. She said the facts of murder and beating of journalists should be considered fairly. /Day.Az/ |
