Slowly, very slowly am I understanding and using the language here. I can make my basic needs known in the corner shop and even answered a question about where I was from the other day. (Avustraliadanam) I’ve started lessons by myself where I’m learning a little more but the challenge is to study during the week.

I have a restaurant gig tomorrow night (Friday) with a friend of a friend from an international school in Japan. We’ll do some sets each but the combined songs won’t sound rehearsed. Hopefully people will see if for the jam that it will be. Some of the material that I’ve learnt to sing with kids might even come in handy.

I have one more week of school then one day on Tuesday, after a public holiday, and I’m off to Lisbon to meet Tanya and go to a PYP workshop. After a week or so in Portugal we fly to Austria for a week to meet up with Suzanne and Franz, friends from Wartburg days.
