St Andrew’s Day

While St Andrew’s Day itself may be a week away, it seems that the Scots in Baku get first choice on entertainment. They’re having their celebrations this weekend.   Today at TISA there was the world champion bagpipe band playing in the hall.  The Scots weren’t the only ones who enjoyed the 15 mins of music.  Tonight there’s a ceihli band at a pub in town that I’m just about to go and see (if that’s what you do when you want to listen).

Tomorrow I’ll go to school and get some reports out of the way.

Some jerk on the street below has a dracula laugh substitute for a horn.  It’s humorus the first time you hear it but tiresome when it’s ten times per night.  Then there’s the other myriad variations for horns. It’s Friday 7.50pm and the honking hasn’t died down yet.  Thankfully it dies out soon after 7pm most nights.
