The Agora in Izmir

Today I went to The Agora in Izmir. It may not be as large as Ephesus but there’s quite a lot to be seen and there’s several archeologists still working there. Did I see around 6 to 8? There were maybe hundreds of metres of broken columns lying in the middle. Will they ever put it all together!

The Agora in Izmir

One travel book I read gave Izmir and the Agora a rather ordinary review, but I liked the place. Maybe it’s because the place reminds me of Adelaide so much.

We had a short chat to an old Turkish man who was just starting to talk about the Turkish problems (secularism vs Islamism) but we were cut off because of bus arrangements to get home.
