Turkey, here we come

It’s 9pm.  At 3am tomorrow morning, I’m getting up to be at school by 4am to fly to Turkey for Space Camp with my Grade 5 students.  It’s a highly interactive environment where kids learn about space and being an astronaut.  My Koc School kids last year went to Space Camp and enjoyed it very much.

The wonderful thing is that the camp doesn’t need assistance from the teachers. This leaves the teachers to discover more of Turkey.  The kids then return to school in 9 days and have only a few days to finish preparing their presentations for their Unit of Inquiry.  I’m afraid that many of them will find the experience sobering as they are far from being ready.

First Aid training today!  Seems there’s been a few new practices brought in for the UK and the USA.  I’m interested to see if Australia has taken the same decisions.  If I ever start choking you don’t have permission to slap me on the back or use the Heimlich manoevre (upward stomach thrust) like they do here in Azerbaijan.
