I never did record that I have accepted a Grade 5 teaching position at The International School of Azerbaijan. I will be working within the Primary Years Program . I need to be there to start orientation on the 9th August. The school is in Baku, the capital city, and accommodation is provided in ex-BP apartments in the old part of town.
Azerbaijan is an ex-Soviet state and there is still a strong Russian influence. Russian is still spoken by the older people, who sometimes find it difficult learning their original language which is very similar to Turkish.

Leigh hasn’t fallen off the edge of the planet. He doesn’t have internet at home yet, and his school days are busy. I think he has found what he was looking for, in the Baku school – sound pedagogy, supportive colleagues and administration, kids interested in learning, enough resources …
He should be on line within a week or so.

Leigh!!
I have been trying to email you, but it seems the only email I have (koc email) has since gone kaputz. I recieved your microwave, but we have yet to get the extras that were supposed to come along with it. Do you remember how much we agreed on for the microwave? I will pay up the balance when the other items turn up (I am sure they will), but until then…
Let me know. Also – you can check out my blog celineclark.edublogs.org or email me at celinehagan@hotmail.com. You can check up on how things are going at Koc too
. Good luck in Azerbaijan!
