Moments from Today

As I said ‘goodbye’ to Grade 4 today there were so many rich moments!  How can I convey much of the sadness in the leaving and the blessing of having shared in these children’s lives for a short time. So, just notes:

  • teaching 20 questions to some classes and singing our hearts out – the best they’ve ever sung
  • getting email addresses from many children
  • making sure that everyone had my blog address
  • some children wanted copies of the songs we sang this semester so I uploaded all the powerpoint files to the EMS website
  • receiving a gigantic box of Turkish chocolates from Bade in 4D – what a good Turkish teacher and friend she has been, along with many others from 4D.
  • handing out last moment EMS reports to 4C
  • lots of photos by parents of their children with their EMS teacher (me)
  • some parents hadn’t realised that I won’t be back next year
  • many heart-felt thanks from parents for my time here – sadness that I was leaving
  • Nihal in 4C gave me a very, very large bouquet of flowers – I needed that hanky again. She also has been a good learner and a good friend

Ah, well, with endings there are beginnings.

Parents, if ever you are coming to South Australia I would love for you to come and stay with Tanya and me. We have spare rooms and would love to see you again. We live in a beautiful part of the Adelaide Hills.

Photos still to come.
