Music concert

Tonight, I attended a concert by the middle-elementary music students. It was a lot of fun. I am so proud of my students who have been learning piano, guitar and recorder or singing in the choir. Most of them I didn’t even know that they were learning. Some of my children are quite outstanding! One girl, (probably Grade 3) was quite adult in her style and had the house almost stomping their approval.

I appreciated the way there were no introductions between children. It just rolled on, one after the other, which meant that some dozens of children all played in quite a short time. The last item was the choir singing some Turkish songs and Obla di, Obla da and Morning Has Broken. Earlier in the week one girl, out of the blue, asked me what ‘bra’ meant – there was much laughter when I told her and the others around. I guess the music teacher just said that it didn’t mean anything, which would also be correct in this context.
